Orinoquia Lodge

Orinoquia Lodge was built in 2005, respecting indigenous traditions and the environment that surrounds it. Orinoquia Lodge is located 20 minutes south of Puerto Ayacucho, Amazonas State, located along the shore of the Orinoco River between the Atures and Maipures streams, sector Las Garcitas, via Samariapo, State Amazonas.

Due to its extraordinary indigenous architectural style and its beautiful location, directly on the banks of the Orinoco River, it is ranked as one of the most beautiful destinations in Venezuela. On the other hand, it is an excellent starting point for excursions through the Amazon jungle, to travel along the Orinoco River, or to visit places known as the petroglyphs of Piedra Pintada, the largest and oldest in the country.

Orinoquia Lodge is designed keeping the style of the typical indigenous huts. Built on a huge granite rock in complete harmony with nature and using all local materials including the best palm trees, wood and vines. There are twelve two-leveled comfortable cabins, accommodating two, three or four persons, with private bathrooms, fans and mosquito nets over the beds.

Additionally it has a large hut overlooking the Orinoco River. The kitchen, the main dining room and a mini bar are located in that hut. It also includes the social area of the camp. It has gardening and roads where you can admire and enjoy the superb sight Orinoco River.

During your stay experience incredible moments in each of the excursions that are offered, some included in the package and others that can be contracted prior notice. Below are some of them:

City Tour: Discover the old town of Puerto Ayacucho, visit the Ethnological Museum, the Cathedral of the city, the Indigenous Square and its traditional market.

Piedra Pintada and Piedra La Tortuga: visit the national monument of the Stone of the Turtle, a magnificent granite rock that draws the shape of a turtle from as certain perspective, climb to the top and enjoy an incomparable view of the Orinoco River and the Savannah; then visit Piedra Pintada to appreciate the recorded largest Prehispanic petroglyphs found so far in Venezuela, with an antique dating from the meso-Indian period.

Walk in the jungle: share with a Piaroa community and enjoy exploring the jungle led by a community's guide, learn about their customs and culture, working methods and the functioning of their society.

Piaroa Shaman: Enjoy the region's indigenous culture, living an experience of customs and authentic traditions with a shaman of the tribe conducting a ceremony.

Orinoco River: set out to know the imposing Orinoco River, sailing its waters in a traditional bongo on a guided tour will be unforgettable.

It is advisable to wear sturdy walking shoes and sandals for trekking, a hat and a scarf, insect repellent, lightweight pants, a raincoat, sunscreen, a swimsuit as well as bringing your flashlight and camera.

Orinoquia Lodge, given its exceptional location and the design of its cabins, is among the most beautiful sites in Venezuela. It also is an excellent point of departure for optional excursions.

Each night's accommodation includes full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) with water and natural juices. The stay does not include alcoholic beverages or soft drinks. If you have any special requirement, they can be arranged if prior notice is given.
